Tamara Lynn Rollins was born on November 20, 1965, in Kansas City, KS, to Eugene Edward Rollins and Grantetta Mae Jefferson. Who raised her with love, strength and unwavering support. Unfortunately, they passed in her early adult years but had instilled the foundation of an amazing woman. She had a vibrant spirit, a kind heart and a natural ability to bring joy to those around her.
Whether it was her caring nature, joking side or her ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory. She was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She attended Southeast High School where she did very well academically. She was involved in band (cello), ROTC and drill team. A hardworking and ambitious individual, career-wise she went from nursing homes to housekeeping to finally a custodian. She was a custodian for Lee's Summit School District for 21 years, retiring officially in January 2025.
Beyond her professional achievements, Tamara was a woman of many passions. She found joy in cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, going on cruises, relaxing at the Lake of the Ozarks, and spending time with her kids and grandbabies. When you walked in her home, she was blasting old school jams or watching HGTV while cooking something delicious. She was the backbone and heart of the family, and she embraced every experience with enthusiasm and love.
More than anything, Tamara was devoted to her family and friends. She cherished her relationships and was a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support to those who needed her. Her love for her family and friends knew no bounds, and she took great pride in being an amazing mother, grandma, partner, sister, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother and Aunt Alice, whom we take comfort in knowing welcomed her with open arms. Though the pain of her loss is overwhelming we find solace in the memories she left behind.
Left to cherish Tamara's sweet memories: her children: Tameika, Kenneth & Tyeisha Rollins; grandbabies: Jayvion, Jaydon, Jayce, Antoneyo, Trinity, Kaiden, D'Jaivyn, Jaylon and Amiah; life partner, Todd Sundberg; her brother, Ronald Rollins; nephews: Emmanuel, Ron Jr. and Davin; mother-in-love, Bertha Bell; honorary sister, Shawn Banks; and other loving family and friends.
Her spirit will live on in every shared story, every echo of laughter, and every act of love inspired by her example. We will forever carry her in our hearts.
