Tanya Perie

Tanya Jean Perie, 63, mother of two, passed away on January 11, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born December 13, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, to Carma Jean Douglas. She spent most of her years in Kansas City.  She graduated from Manual High School in Kansas City, Missouri.  After high school she continued studies at Penn Valley Community College, as well as completed a surgical technology program. Throughout her career she worked at AT&T, the United States Post Office and with many in the health care field before withdrawing from the workforce.

Tanya, known to family as Tangie, lived a life of generosity and love - always willing and available to help a friend in need, with a caring and uplifting spirit. She enjoyed spending time with family, watching the Chiefs play, going to the boat and anything involving her grandsons. Although she selflessly provided for others, she never left herself out, as she really enjoyed shopping too.

Tanya is predeceased by her mother Carma Jean Douglas, and leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Miya (Roy) White and, son, Charles Perie; her beloved Aunt, Ella “Auntie” Brown; her siblings Ronnell “Ronnie” Douglas, Beatrice Douglas-Garner (TX), Michael Douglas (TX), Toni Wesley and Debbie Wesley-Zanders; grandsons Miles, Ryan, Mason and Roman White, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends.
