Terri York was born to Wesley York and Earlean Wilborn York on June 26, 1962, at Queen of the World Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was educated within the Kansas City Missouri School District and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1980, with honors. She later matriculated at the University of Missouri Kansas City and Penn Valley Community College.
She met and married William "Billy" Washington and to that union two daughters were born, RaShonda Washington and Kantrall Washington. Billy preceded Terri in death.
Terri was a dedicated employee, working for various companies throughout her career. She was last employed with The Community Blood Center of Kansas City as a lab technician.
She was raised and baptized at The Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri, under the pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. McKinley Dukes, Sr. Terri remained faithful in her service to God and to her church until her death. She served as Choir President, Church Secretary, Praise Team Member, Usher, WMU, Sunday School Secretary, Decorator, and on various special days committees.
Terri loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her hobbies included arts and crafts, cooking, decorating, bargain hunting, couponing, history preservation, collecting, and planning family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sibling, Paul Lynn York; her grandparents, Richard and Mollie Wilborn; nephew, Garrett Palmer; stepfather, William Johnson; bonus siblings: Johnny Johnson and Gary Johnson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters: RaShonda Hopkins and Kantrall Washington; her siblings: Lois Ann Palmer (Chester), Vernon York (Johnnie Ann), Kami Woodard (Jhordan), Dennis Burris, Denise Burris, Curtis Johnson (Sherry), Gary Johnson, and Darryl Johnson; sister-in-love, Meshawn Prejean York; her nieces: Misty Wilson, Brianne York, Emonie Earl (Bobby) of Louisiana, Laci Palmer, and Kristen Woodard; her godmother, Brenda Perkins; godbrother, Pastor Robert W. Townsend, Jr. of Texas, her Church Family, and a host of other family and friends.
