Terry Gene Paige, 77, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Saint Luke’s East Hospital on September 4, 2026. He was born on June 26, 1949, in Fayette, Missouri, to George and Mary F. Barnett.
Terry accepted Christ as his savior at an early age at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fayette, Missouri. His faith remained an important part of his life.
Terry graduated from Fayette High School in 1967. Shortly after graduation, he attended trade school and later received an associate’s degree in criminal justice at Penn Valley Community College. In 1969, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army where he served until, he was honorably discharged in 1971. Terry was also a member of the American Legion.
Terry built a career with Chicago Title Insurance Company as the Production Manager, where he dedicated 30 years of his working life. He then served as Vice President and Area Production Manager at Thompson-Affinity Title Company before retiring in 2015.
While Terry accomplished many things throughout his life, his greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted husband to his loving and devoted wife, Deloris. Terry and Deloris met in Kansas City, MO in 1974 and they married each other in 1977. Next year they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Terry was also a devoted father and granddad who found joy in playing with his grandsons and talking to them about history and the latest Marvel movie. Everyone loved their “Uncle Terry” and he loved his nieces and nephews. He taught us the importance of family.
Terry loved doing yardwork and was often found making sure everything was just right. The grass had to be green and edges trimmed to perfection. He loved keeping his cars clean and took pride in maintaining them. He also enjoyed collecting coins, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for things with history and meaning.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Mary F. Barnett; father, George Barnett; brother, Gilbert Paige; brother, Bill Paige; brother, Charles “Chase” Paige; sister, Sara Wilkinson; brother, Robert Paige.
He leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy: his beloved wife, Deloris Paige; sister, Shirley Daniels; daughter, Carla Turner; son, Kevin Paige (Robeena); daughter, Katrina Ross (DeRon); and grandchildren, Kendall, Belaye, Gabriel, Karter, and Kaleb. He also leaves behind countless family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his presence.
Terry’s life was about the simple things that brought him joy. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, the traditions carried forward, and most of all, in the family he loved so deeply.
Though he will be greatly missed, we take comfort in knowing that his earthly journey is complete and that his legacy will continue through the generations he leaves behind.
