Theodore “Teddy” Johnson was born January 6, 1963. He was the third child born to the union of Ivory T. and Bernice V. (Scott) Johnson, both who proceeded him in death. He was also proceeded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his oldest brother Oscar Scott-Johnson, several nephews and one niece. Theodore was peacefully called home to be with our Savior and his many loved ones on May 13, 2021.
Teddy was a life-long resident of Kansas City, Missouri. He gave his life to Christ at an early age at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church under the late M.T. Broyle. He applied himself at a young age receiving his GED in 1985. He previously worked at Leawood Country Club, the Carriage Club and Westport Flea Market. He loved to work on cars, especially American made cars which he passed the trade on to his nephews.
Our beloved Teddy loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his cousins Walter Piercy, the late Johnnie “Dong” Johnson, Curtis Moore and Percy Lewis. He was an avid sports fan who loved football especially his Kansas City Chiefs. He cherished his nieces and nephews with all he had as if they were his very own. Teddy would give his last dime to help someone in need, “to know him was to love him.”
Theodore leaves to cherish his memory one brother, Ivory “Junior” T. Johnson; three sisters Susie Slayden, Debra Johnson, Kim Henderson and one Sister-n-Law Ernestine Johnson all of Kansas City, Missouri. Three uncles and three aunts; a host of 23 nephews and nieces; 45 great nephews and nieces; 20 great-great nephews and nieces; two God children and a host of other family and friends that will deeply miss him.
