Theodore Shade

It is with great sadness that the family of Deacon Theodore Shade announce his passing. Mr. Shade was Born in Vain, Oklahoma in 1928 and lived in Kansas City for 70 years where he worked for several companies in repair and delivery of goods, as well as in construction.

Mr. Shade attended Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church for 60 years and served in various roles including deacon, usher, finance team member, male chorus singer, and choir president. He also served his community for several decades as a barber. Mr. Shade loved spending time with his wife of almost 60 years, W. Earlene Shade, and their children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends.

Deacon Shade loved sharing captivating stories, traveling (especially taking cruises), gardening, fishing, and watching the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs play. In December 2021, Mr. Shade transitioned to his eternal resting place peacefully in his home and lived to be 93.
