With deep sadness, we celebrate the life of Thomas Edward Bartlett III, lovingly known as "Red", "Bird", and "T-Bird". Thomas passed away on November 12, 2025, at KU Medical Center, in Kansas City, Kansas; leaving a lasting impact on everyone who was blessed to know him.
Born on February 27, 1964, in Kansas City, Kansas. Thomas attended school in the Kansas City Missouri School District before continuing his journey at Job Corps in Omaha, Nebraska. Wherever life took him, Thomas carried a warm, welcoming spirit that naturally brought people together.
He enjoyed old-school music, time with family and friends, and the simple moments that made life meaningful. His sense of humor, his loyalty, and the joy he brought to every room will never be forgotten.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. Bartlett Jr. and Eileen D. Bartlett-Doolin; his brother, Joseph A. Berger-Bartlett; and his nephew, Stephen C. Carter Jr.
To know Thomas was to love him. His presence was genuine, his heart was generous, and his memory will live on forever in the stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Martha Bartlett and a stepdaughter; two sisters: Adreene Y. Bartlett and Coleene V. Carter; one brother, Thomas E. Jenkins; stepbrothers: Jay Moore and Dr. Keith Moore; three nieces, Stephanee Carter, Termisha Jenkins, and Tamonda Jenkins-Crawford; one nephew, Davion Caston; great-nieces and nephews; two aunts: Janice Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, and Shirley Bartlett of Las Vegas, Nevada; and a host of cousins, and other loving family and friends.
