He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosalind Bartlett, sister Joyce L. Bartlett Knight Manning, brother Leroy J. Bartlett, grandsons Stephen C. Carter Jr., Thomas Jenkins Jr.
Thomas loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age.

Later, Thomas enlisted with the U.S. Air Force and was honorable discharged in 1958. He returned home to Kansas City, and he furthered his education at Penn Valley Community College while employed full time with the U.S. Postal Service and retired 30 plus years later.
Thomas met Shirley Rector in 1959 and to this relationship, one son was born Thomas Jenkins.
Thomas met Eileen Davis, the love of his life, around 1960 and in 1961 they married. To this union three beautiful children were born (Adreene, Coleene, and Thomas III.) The marriage ended around 1972, and they co-parented the children.

times together were going fishing, bowling, playing spades and a mean game of dominoes. They were on bowling teams together and sometimes on different teams, but they traveled all over the United States in different tournaments and competitions. Relaxing times for him were watching good western movies, cooking shows and a variety of sports including the KC Chiefs Football team, the University of Kansas Jayhawks, just to name a few and watching the news.
He had a laugh that you want to know what’s going on and join them in the conversations.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Adreene Y. Bartlett and Coleene V. Carter; two sons, Thomas E. Bartlett III and Thomas Jenkins all of KCMO; two stepsons, Jay Moore of KCMO and Dr. Keith Moore Lewisville, Georgia; two sisters, Janice Williams of Atlanta, Georgia and Shirley Bartlett of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughters, Stephanee Carter, Termisha Jenkins, Tamonda Jenkins-Crawford; grandson, Davion Caston, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will always cherish his memory.
