Thomas J. Jordan, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away after a struggle with stomach cancer surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 29, 2018.

Thomas was born in Forrest City, Arkansas, on September 24, 1932. He lived in St. Louis, Missouri, as a young man and later moved to Kansas City where he met and married Judith M. Terry (Jordan). He was married in Neosho, Missouri, on July 31, 1966. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Jordan, Sr. and his mother, Fannie Gaither.

Thomas was a long time member of the Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board and was an active member of the Sunday School. He held many jobs, but spent most of his time as a professional over the road truck driver. Thomas also loved to play horseshoes, pool, and dominoes. Thomas was an avid hunter and a member of the Most Worshipful New Hope Grand Lodge of Missouri. He was known for his big voice, occasionally stern demeanor, and friendly personality. His closest friends and family called him “Baby Ray.”

He leaves behind immediate family Judith M. Jordan, Wife; Beloved sons - Jimmy Lucas, Derrick Jordan, Thomas J. Jordan II (Lazora), Anthony Jordan (Patty), Frederick Jordan (Lauren), Beloved Daughters - Shawnda Turner (Steven) and Judith Campbell (Clifton). He was preceded in death by his adopted mother Lillie Thompson, by son, Maurice Adkins, brother Eugene King, and sister Georgia King-Rice. Thomas was also a grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many.
