Listen to Obituary

Timothy V. Shockley, Sr. was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on August 9, 1964, to Dorothy (Marshall) Shockley-Adams and Elmer Lee Shockley.

At a young age, Timothy moved to Kansas City, Missouri with his family and from there, built his life and established his ministry across the city. Timothy graduated from Paseo High School in 1982 and attended US Trade School to become a certified diesel mechanic. He worked for various companies such as Jefferson Lines and retired from the Sysco Corporation and Grandview Consolidated School District #4.

In 1983, while attending Greater Holy Temple COGIC, Timothy met and married the love of his life, Regina (Wilborn) and from that union, birthed three children: Timothy Jr. (Alta), Brandon (Josalyn), and Brittnee. He had the privilege of being Papa Shock to six grandchildren: Justin, Timothy III (Trey), Jaelah, Micah, Destiny, and Brandon Jr. (BJ). He was also affectionately known as Pops to his children’s friends and everyone regarded Timothy with reverence and respect because he was a father-figure to all who knew him.

Timothy accepted the call to preach at an early age, and in 1998, stepped out on faith to start New Life Evangelistic Outreach Ministries, which has evolved over the years to include a prison ministry with the Jackson County Detention Center, online Bible college, and most recently, virtual Hebrew and Greek studies via social media through Kingdom Builders Apostolic Ministries. Timothy also authored several books and mentored countless pastors across the globe.

Timothy went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 11, 2021 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his father Elmer Lee Shockley.

Apostle Shockley is survived by his wife of 37 years Regina, children Timothy Jr., Brandon, and Brittnee, his mother and Stepfather Tom and Dorothy Adams, his brothers Travis, Erik and Elmer Shockley, six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Kingdom Builders Apostolic Ministries to continue the work that Apostle Shockley started.

Due to COVID-19, please respect social distancing and face covering guidelines. Temperature checks will be enforced.
