Tina was born to Delores Jean Leigh and  Lewis Charles Tyson on January 27, 1958 in Kansas City Mo. She transitioned to her heavenly home on February 12, 2023. She was proceeded in death by her father, mother, two sisters; Janell Renee Tyson and Shirley Jean Tyson Tolbert.

Tina was raised a Christian in the Baptist faith, first attending as a child in Los Angeles, CA. and Ripley, MS. Once her parents moved back to KC, she became a youth member and was baptized at Fellowship Baptist Church in 1973, where she worked in various capacities, which included the choir, Youth Sunday School Teacher and Drama Director.

She graduated from Southeast High school school in 1976 with top honors.  After graduation she obtained her education and became a Registered Respiratory Therapist and then decided to obtain a certification as a Pulmonary Function Technologist.  Little did she know upon receiving her education she would find herself working at Research Medical Center for over 44 years. Because she served her patients with compassion, humility and grace, she received multiple recognitions throughout the years including an employee of the year award in 2020.

Tina loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to gospel music. She liked shopping and giving unique gifts to her family and friends. She especially enjoyed wrapping the gifts with fancy bows to show off her meticulous wrapping skills.

She leaves behind a son: Tyson Alexander Mitchell; sister: Lelia Tyson; special sister/cousin: Kristy Tyson; brother: Charles Lewis Tyson (TC) of Vivian LA; nephew: Clifford (Cailin) Tolbert Sr; and great nephew: Clifford Tolbert Jr (JJ); two aunts: Stella Brooks and Centennial Tyson of Bivins TX; three uncles: Walter (Maudry) Tyson, Gene (Selma)Tyson, and Forest (Evelyn) Tyson: three step sisters: Melicent McCain, Marsha Austin (George), and Darlene McGruder; two step brothers: Eddie J Strickland, Jr, (Val),and  Andray Strickland, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will greatly miss her.
