Tom E. Jones was an only child, born December 15, 1939 in Monroe, Georgia to the union of Henry Edward and Julia Nell Jones. On December 5, 2020, Tom made his transition at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, MO. as a result of COVID19.  Praise God, he accepted Christ and was saved at an early age. In 1946 Tom and his parents moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958.  He then entered the United States Army, serving in several places including overseas in Vietnam, Germany, and Turkey and state side in Fort Benning, GA,  Fort  Sam's Houston, TX, Fort Riley, KS, and Fort Devens, MA.  In 1988, after serving over 25 years he retired as Master Sargent E8.

Tom then moved to Kansas City, where he briefly worked for the US Census Bureau, Woodley Building Maintenance,  and finally the VA. Medical Center retiring in 2002. In 1994 Tom married his wife Marilyn Jones.  In 2010 they joined Calvary Chapel COGIC. where he served as Vice President Chair on the Deacon Board.  He enjoyed bowling,  playing pinochle, writing poems and listening to music.

Tom was preceded in death by, his father and mother, and his oldest son Randy Jones.

Tom is survived by his wife Marilyn Jones of Grandview MO, one son Marcus (Ellisha) Jones, Kansas City, KS, one stepson Leonard Mun, Topeka KS, one daughter Sonya (Terrence) Jones-Wells, Kansas City, MO, one stepdaughter Denita Hooks, Topeka KS. Grandchildren Marlon Snow,  Marcus Jones Jr., Terrence Wells Jr., Miles Fox -Jones, Elias Fox, Leron Mun, Corey Scales, Deneco Scales, Mya Jones, Kimberly Johnson, and Kristina Chandler. His special cousins Evelyn (Coot) Ansley of Monroe, GA and Mary Nell of Dayton, OH. His best friend and army brother Robert (Bob) Carter of Junction City, KS. and a host of family and friends.
