Tyler Elliott Brown, I

Listen to Obituary

Mr. Tyler Elliott Brown, Sr was born May 7, 1978, to the union of Theodore B. Brown, Sr (Father) and Charmayne “Charlie” Brown (Mother). He transitioned from this earthly life on April 8, 2023, while at home in Raytown, MO.

Tyler was the youngest of 4 children, Theodore, Jr. “Bubba” (Nikita) Bonner Spring KS, and 2 sisters, Michole Thomas “Puddin”, Kansas City, MO and Frankie Francis (Eduardo), Kansas City, MO.

Tyler lived his entire life in Kansas City MO, where he spent countless weekends with his GreatGrandmother, Momma Re and Grandmother Momma Emma, both preceding him in death.

Tyler grew up in church from the age of 4 months old-9 years old (Faith Mission, Pastor Hubert Lambert, Sr), Harvest Church (Pastor Steve Houpe) age 9-15 years old. During that time, Tyler, Sr. made many trips to the altar; no matter what the invitation was, Tyler would go. When asked why, His response was “I just love being in the presence of God.”

Tyler attended school in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and for a brief tenure, worked for Kellogg’s in Kansas City, KS.

Tyler grew up with cousins from both sides of his family, cousins that now have bonds as close as brothers, Brandon Williams (Twin) and Lewis Jackson (Yogi). Tyler and his younger sister, Michole “Puddin” has always shared a special bond growing up. Tyler was very instrumental in rearing her 4 children (Dave Jr., Freddie, Michael “Mikey” and La’shai).

Tyler deeply desired to have a son of his own, and asked his mother to agree with him in that his desire would be granted…and it indeed came to past. Tyler took great pride in spending time raising his son Tyler, Jr because he knew TJ was a precious, special gift from God. Tyler Sr made certain his son knew his side of the family, especially his PawPaw Ted, Sr.

Tyler, Sr was an intelligent and classy young man. He enjoyed spending time with his close friends Mr. Harold Davenport (Big Dawg) and held family close to his heart. Frankie, his oldest sister would always lovingly find a way to remind Tyler, of his small stature, concluding “but you do have an enormous personality.” We could always count on Tyler, Sr to enter any room and just ooze genuine charm and confidence.

Not everyone knew that Tyler, Sr had a special place in his heart for animals. Always smuggling stray cats or puppies’ home after school.  He leaves behind his fur baby Frankie, (yes, he named her after his sister) his beloved American Pit Bully and fur baby, Gerrod, the cat.

Tyler, Sr. was a thoughtful son, an amazing littler brother, a loyal friend, a great cousin, a good nephew, a special uncle, and will be missed by all…until we meet again; we know you are rejoicing and dancing before the Lord your Savior, Jesus Christ.
