Valerie Mccray

Valerie McCray, age 54, was taken to rest in peace on January 2, 2023. A beloved daughter to Leodis McCray Sr. and Bobbie McCray, Valerie was born August 18, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri. The second youngest of five, Valerie was raised alongside her siblings Tammy McCray, Timothy McCray, Leodis McCray Jr., and Robin McCray.

Valerie was fiercely loyal and sincerely loved her family. She dedicated her life to loving and raising her only son, Jayvon McCray, who precedes her in death along with her brother Leodis McCray Jr. Valerie had an easygoing nature, was playful, quick to laugh, easy to talk to, and had a great sense of humor. Valerie was deeply loved and her infectious laughter is already missed.

Valerie leaves behind a family who is broken-hearted, but grateful for the 54 years they were able to spend with her. She is survived by her parents, Bobbie and Leodis McCray; her brother Timothy McCray and his wife Stacy; her sister Robin McCray; her beloved nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and family who were touched by her and the light she brought into the world. She will always be precious to us.
