Valerie Rene Reid

Valerie Rene Reid, 71, passed away on November 14, 2024, at home, in Kansas City, MO.  She was born on August 24, 1953, in Kansas City, KS to Raymond L. Miller and Hazel J. Dennis.  She grew up in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Lincoln High School. After high school she attended Penn Valley Community College also in Kansas City, MO

She was a published author of a children’s book and sewing was a great passion.

She began work for Second Missionary Baptist Church as a secretary where she retired in 2019.

She was involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters, Jackson County Foster Care, and an active member at World Revival Church.

Valerie married Henry Robinson III and from that union Elanie Robinson was born.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond L. Miller and Hazel J. Dennis and brother-in-law Maurice Lang, Sr.

Valerie is survived by her daughter Elanie (Redondo) McKenzie of Olathe, Kansas, her sister Raynita K. Lang of Pleasant Hill, MO, brothers: Eric (Donna) Miller of Chesapeake, VA, Byron A. Miller of Benton Harbor, MI, Robert (Jacqeline) White Benton Harbor, MI and grandchildren: Christina A. Fletcher and Shawn A. Fletcher, Jr., both of Olathe, KS, and a host of relatives and friends.
