Vanecia L. Codner was born on March 3, 1985, in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Vincent Lindsay Sr. and Sharon Lindsay. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Vincent Lindsay, II. She departed this life on September 14, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Vanecia professed a love for Christ at an early age attending Metropolitan AME Zion Church, where she sang in the Little Voices and Youth Choir. As a young adult in the church she taught children’s Sunday School. Vanecia later joined Evangel Church where she also taught children’s church.
Vanecia was educated in the Kansas City School District and Raytown School District, where she graduated from Raytown High School. She continued her education at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri and Northeastern University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she received her BA in Business Administration.
Vanecia met the love of her life Domingo Codner while attending Northeastern State University. They were united in marriage on July 31, 2010.To that union two children were born, Alex and Za’Nyla Codner.
Vanecia spent most of her employment as a spa coordinator. She worked at some of the most known hotels, such as the Gaylord Palms Resort and Hilton.
Vanecia was a creative seamstress who specialized in designing custom baby blankets and hair bonnets. Her passion eventually led to the creation of LADY VEE BOUTIQUE.
Vanecia was in the finishing stages of completing her 30-Day Devotional Guide.
Vanecia leaves to cherish her memories: her husband Domingo Codner, son Alex Codner, daughter Za’Nyla Codner, mother Sharon Lindsay, step mother Debra Lindsay all of Kansas City, Missouri, her in-laws Domingo and Beverley Codner, of Kissimmee, Florida, one sister Antoinette (Russell) Hill of Kansas City, Missouri, one brother Devon Lindsay of Kansas City, Missouri, one brother-in-law Alvin Codner of Kissimmee, Florida, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
