Vashon Crawford

Vashon Donnell Crawford was born October 28th, 1976 to the union of Curtis D Crawford & Gwynette L Bruce. He was preceded in death by both parents and his grandparents Gladys and Vernon Crawford.

He received his education through the Kansas City, Missouri School District and attended Central High School. He graduated from Truck Driving School at Fort Scott Community College receiving his certification to be a Class A Commercial Driver. He also went on to receive another truck driving certificate through Werner Enterprise.

Vashon was employed as a Truck Driver for the last five years with Medline Industries. He was loved by all his coworkers for his full and funny personality.

He was a member of The Whole Truth House of Prayer where he was baptized. Vashon was a caring, giving and loving man of God who would help anybody in need. Even if it meant giving you the shirt off his back.

He was a big kid at heart who was as full of life as he was funny. He loved doing anything  exciting including going to arcades, riding go carts, visiting amusement parks and playing his video games. He was food connoisseur who loved going to different restaurants. There was never a time spent where he wasn’t cracking jokes to make others laugh.

He enjoyed spending as much time as he could with both of his children whom he loved very much and did everything he could for them.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter Michèla Crawford, Kansas City, MO; son Quinton Latimore, Wichita, Kansas; brother Tony (Travida) Byas, North Kansas City, MO; his church family, his good friend and neighbor Big Country, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Vashon’s bright and giving spirit will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. May the joy he brought to others continue to be paid forward.
