July 26, 1963 — July 23, 2025

Listen to Obituary

Deacon Vaughn Eugene Weaver was a faithful servant of God whose unwavering dedication to his faith touched all who knew him. A man of deep faith and profound character. Deacon Weaver’s relationship with Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life. He often spoke of the transformative power of God, and his walk as a Christian man was evident in everything he did. One of his most cherished practices was rising early at 3 a.m. every day, no matter where, he would spend time praying and communing with the Lord. This time was sacred to him, a reflection of his devotion to his faith and his Savior.

Deacon Vaughn Weaver transitioned to heaven peacefully at KU Medical Center, in Kansas City, KS, on July 23, 2025, at 2:39 p.m. with his family and friends by his side, praying and singing to him. He was born July 26, 1963, to Coolidge Ottaway Weaver and Martha Elizabeth McKinney, who preceded him in death. He was the youngest of six children; Michael Weaver, who preceded him in death, Eula Cushenberry (Eldrich), Derrick Weaver, Bobbie Mitchell, and Chester Mitchell.

Deacon Weaver was a devoted husband to the Queen of his life, Valerie Delouise (Beasley) Weaver, for 32 years, and they raised five wonderful children: Marquez Le'Roy Beasley, My'Kisha Le'Ann Ikerd (Derrick), My'Kala La'Sha Biggs (Colby), Morrell Le'Nard Mitchell, and My'Iah La'Vaughn Weaver. Deacon Weaver was a proud grandfather of six grandchildren: Azana Ikerd, Ayden Ikerd, Ezra Ikerd, Imani Biggs, Amarah Biggs, and Irelynn Mitchell.

Deacon Vaughn Weaver became a deacon at Memorial Church International, in Kansas City, Missouri, under the leadership of Apostle Larry B. & Pastor Olivia C. Q. Aiken, where he served with humbleness and love, never hesitant to lend a hand at church or simply offer a word of encouragement. His infectious laughter and love for life made him a cherished member of his church and community. He enjoyed challenging someone to a game of dominoes, quoting scripture, and sharing a heartfelt conversation.   Deacon Vaughn Weaver’s presence was very unique, and his spirit of fellowship was a light to all who crossed his path.    Deacon Vaughn Weaver’s legacy will live on in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives he touched with his faith, humor, and loving spirit. His commitment to his God, his church, and family will continue to inspire us all. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. His faith, love, and laughter will remain in our hearts forever.
