Venita Alene (Stuckey) Turner was born December 4, 1952 to Lettie (Jackson) Brazil and Carl Joe Findley.  She was later adopted by her great Uncle James and Aunt Willie Stuckey in 1955.

Venita gained her heavenly wings peacefully in her home on June 14, 2024 in Kansas City, Mo surrounded by family.

Venita was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas School district where she attended Kealing Stowe, Northeast Junior High and graduated from Wyandotte High School class of 1971.  She also lived with her Uncle Tom & Aunt Bernice in Roxbury, Massachusetts for 4 years and attended Everette School for Girls.

Venita was raised in the Church of the Living God (C.W.F.F) under the leaderships of Bishops A.R. Powell, C.E. Fonsville, C.A. Lewis and Thomas A. Masters.

Venita was employed at various jobs Central Bag Company, Bethany Medical Center, University of Kansas Medical Center (K.U.), Signature, Homeland Security.  Venita loved to travel and was an Independent Travel Advisor/Agent for a short period of time.

Venita was blessed with a son Fredric Donnell Dowd.  She later married her first husband and to this union she was blessed with her second son Eric Tyrone Simpson.

Well, as years went by and fate happened, she was brought together with and married her longtime friend and love of her life, Clarance E. Turner on October 26, 1985.  There were no children born into this union, but they helped raise and nurture their Granddaughter Jasmine Roland who she affectionately called her “Big BabyBaby or JassyPoohPooh”.

In 2000 they moved from Kansas City, KS to Kansas City, MO joined True Faith M.B. Church.  Venita led by the spirit, moved her membership to Word's Way Christian Fellowship under the Pastoralship of Kevin Verner.  While there she helped start the Homeless Ministry "Saints on Demand" and participated in the Street Ministry.  She later joined her husband Clarance at Bread of Life in Kansas City, KS under the Pastoralship of LeRoy Sullivan.  After Pastor Sullivan was called home to be with the Lord, Venita along with her Husband Clarance joined Bread of life East Church under the Leadership/Pastoralship of Bishop Otis L. Cobbins, Jr. where she participated in various Ministries and remained a faithful, loyal, dedicated and devoted member until she gained her heavenly wings.

Venita loved reading the Bible, singing, cooking and an AWESOME cook she was – just ask anyone that knew her, she liked watching old Western shows, Cooking shows, Movies, going out to eat trying new restaurants (of which she and Husband loved doing and would definitely find them), going to get her hair, nails and feet done, spending time with family & friends but especially with her Great-GrandDaughter who she affectionately called her “PiggyJean/LahnaPooh”.

All parents proceed her in death, Grandson: KeJuan Mays; Grandmother: Maybell Smith; Aunts: Delores Malone, Ruth Sutton, Uncles: Clarance Alexander and Augustus Smith.

Venita’s memories will forever be cherished by her loving, dedicated & devoted Husband Clarance E. Turner; Sons: Fredric Dowd, Eric Simpson, Grandchildren: Jasmine Roland (Anthony), DeJour Dowd, Malachi Simpson, Aiden Simpson, DaAriel Simpson; Great-Grandchildren: A'Lahna Roland, DaVayah Leak, KeJuan Mays, Jr (KJ); Sister: Regina Lawrence, Brothers: Micheal Pate (Terri), Ruben Stuckey; Uncle: Clarance Jackson (Diane); Nephews: Chris Pate, Rian Lawrence, Rashaun Lawrence; Special Friends: Nella McFadden, Roberta Starr, Halina Gay, Earnestine Smith, Betty Trent, Brenda Flournoy and Peggy Dwight; godSon: Derrick Noel and godGrandDaughter: Mikayla Noel and a host of cousins, other relatives, friends and extend family.
