Vercy L. Smith

Vercy Lee Smith passed away on December 24, 2024 at home, in Kansas City, KS She was born on April 18, 1946 in Pioneer, LA to Bailey Blankenship Sr. and Martha Blankenship. She grew up in Riverton, LA. She graduated from Union Central High School and later dedicated over 60 years of her life as a caregiver in home health care. Vercy accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life.

Vercy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Smith Sr.; daughter, Connie Smith-Turner; brothers, Bailey Blankenship Jr., Houston Blankenship, Louis Blankenship, and Jerry Blankenship; and sisters, Mavis Johnson, Betty Lou Marks, Vercy B. Washington, and Dora Tatum.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Daisy Smith, Vivian Smith (Michael), Angela Smith, and William Smith Jr.; brother, David Blankenship; and grandchildren: Maiesha Smith, Antonio Smith, Briana Gilreath, Kierra Smith, Travis Smith, William Smith III, Travon Manning, Malik Gilreath, and Caleb Dirks. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, including Tyerran, Cordell, Toni, Aubrey, Kaden, Khani, Kaliah, Davon, Zara, Zamir, and Akyezs.
