Verlene Ross-Lewis

Verlene Rose Lewis, age 77, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024 at Kansas City Hospice House.

Born on September 12, 1947, to Pearlie Mae Pouncil and Ezell Ross. Verlene was the beloved fourth of thirteen children. She attended Manual High School in Kansas City, MO, where she graduated and embarked on a remarkable 30-year career at Ford Motor Company, where she retired.

Verlene was a woman of many passions, including being an Eastern Star, helping the community, singing in the choir, attending church, shopping, and spending time with her loved ones. Her unwavering faith made her a cherished member of St. James for decades.

A loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, and great-grandmother, Verlene's family was the heart of her world. She was predeceased by her mother, Pearlie Mae Pouncil, father, Ezell Ross, great grandsons Markello and Mark Anthony Davis and brothers David Ross and Andre Pouncil.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Loren Lewis; her children, Annette Davis and Dale Ross; her grandchildren, Melanie (Charles), Mark, Mindy, Merlene, Diamond, Remy, Yazmyne; her great-grandchildren, Damarco, Amber, Kortiana, Romello, Darriona, Narrico, William Jr., Tailoni, Shanice, Nova, Avion, Amaris, Saphari, and Shyla and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Verlene's legacy will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and love.
