Vernon H Young Sr.

Vernon was born April 8, 1939 to the union of Harvey & Zelma Young in Kansas City, Kansas. He departed this life November 10, 2017 at home. He was educated in the Kansas City, KS school district.

He was preceded in death by both parents, his first wife Saundra Young, two sons: Vernon Young Jr. and Glen Young Sr., one sister: Merle Stanfford, one brother; Reginald Young, and two grandsons; Brian Young Sr., and Glen Young Jr., two granddaughters; LaSaundra Young, and Derrica Young.

From the union of his first wife there were eight children.

Vernon was a hard worker and retired from Lake City Army Ammunition Plant after 20 plus years. He loved watching sports and working on cars. He enjoyed his life relaxing and being the man that he was. He was an excellent father somewhat strict, but he loved and took care of his family and loved ones. He was a good, two - stepper and just loved dancing and he also loved gardening especially his tomatoes. Vernon was baptized at an early age and he loved the Lord. He will be greatly missed by all.

Vernon leaves to cherish his memories: his wife: Mary young; six daughters Vernetta Bell (Prince), Emette Young, Natasha Amis, Regena Young, Rochelle Hamilton – Robinson and VeRone’ca Young; two sons: Kenneth Young Sr.(Dorothy), and Terry Young Sr.; one step daughter: Lena Jackson (Marc); one step son: Vernon Armstead Jr., one brother; Perry Young (Georgia), two sisters: Oletha Woods, and Carolyn Young Robinson; 38 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family and friends. His special friends and son-in-law Prince Bell.
