Listen to Obituary

Veronica N. Stewart- Pinkney (a.k.a. Nat) was born on December 17, 1968, in Kansas City, Mo. On July 3, 2021, at St Luke's Hospital South, God stop by and took her hand, said your assignment is now overcome go with me now.

Veronica attended J.S.Chick Elementary school and graduated from Ruskin High School in Kansas City, MO. Her father: Ronald Durant preceded her in death. She also leaves behind to cherish her husband: J.P. Pinkney; mother: Kathy Bell (Jack); sister: Carmen Peppars-Woodley (Rasaan); brothers: Christopher Peppars and Travis Peppars (a.k.a. Tony Duffles); her stepfather: Eddie Brown (a.k.a. Chops); and a host of nieces, nephews, and family.

Veronica loved the Lord and found him at an early age. Growing up in church at St. Andrews and then in her later years at her family attended Gregg Tabernacle AME. Where she enjoyed singing in the choir, working in the Young People Department (YPD) and as a member of the usher board. Since, returning home to Kansas City, MO, she began attending Concord Fortress, but never became a member.  She just had to find a place where she could be in the presence of the Lord.  While living in Phoenix, Az, she was a member of Vertical Church of Phoenix. She served on the Welcome Committee, Feed the Homeless, Children's Ministry, and Health Committee for the church.

While here in Kansas City, MO, Veronica used her natural talent to make people feel good by creating Nat's Velvet Touch, an all-natural body products that she created and designed.  Veronica and her mother opened a small boutique in the West Bottoms of Kansas City, in the Hyvee Arena, called Kathy's Korner where she sold her products.  This business venture allowed them to create and serve their community. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed by her family and friends.

"God looked around His garden and He found an empty place.  He then looked down upon this earth and saw her tired face.  He wrapped His arms around you and lifted you to rest.  God is beautiful for He only takes the best. He knew that you were suffering.  He knew that you were in pain. So, he closed your weary eyes and whispered, "Come with me."  It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home." Missed by your sister and brother who loved you more than you knew.
