Listen to Obituary

It is with profound love and yet deep sadness that we celebrate the life of Versell Fitzpatrick Walker, affectionately known as “Truckie Jr”. The seventh of eight children raised in the Kansas City area, he was born December 9, 1960, to Alice and George Walker, Jr., in Kansas City, Missouri. Both parents and nephews George Walker and Kyle “KC” Brown preceded him in death.

Versell was educated in the Kansas City School District attending Our Lady of Guadalupe Elementary School and Lincoln High School.

He was well known for his love of family, “hogs” aka Harley Davidson motorcycles and the brotherhood. He was a proud member of the Dreamcatchers Motorcycle Club for over 20 years, where he held a few positions including Vice President, a Board member and the Chairman of the Roundup held in Kansas City. He spearheaded many memorable events at the clubhouse including food drives, Trunk or Treat parties to give children a safe place to have fun with food and candy as well as Toy’s for the Babies at Christmas, even dressing as Santa Clause. If you didn’t know him from the bike, you knew him as Coach V, a little league football coach for the South Suburban league.

After retiring from Tyson Brothers Construction Company, Truckie lived his life with an adventurous spirit, be it riding “Big Blue” alongside his brothers, biological and club, or traveling with family and friends, he lived life to the fullest. He was also known for his free spirit of a biker, riding his beautiful blue hog with loud music and pipes … but above all, he was a man who deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren and family, blood and all the brothers on the set.

In 2010, Versell was at a party where he saw and introduced himself to Chellie Jones. During the introduction he told her, “You gonna be my wife”! From that moment, they were inseparable. Professing their love before God, Pastor Molden bound the two of them in holy matrimony September 22, 2014. Known on the set as “Classy”, Chellie was always supportive. In true Truckie Jr. fashion, he made sure the two of them had weekly date night, and one-on-one time, be it dinner at their favorite restaurant, cruising in the convertible or traveling, they were always together.

On August 23, 2024, surrounded in a circle of love and prayer, with Chellie, family and others who loved him deeply, Versell transitioned to his heavenly home where he received his crown and will hear the words “Well done”

He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory dedicated and loving wife LaVonda “Chellie” Jones-Walker; sons: Walter Graves (Brianna), Versell Wells, daughters: Inetta Brown (Rob), Tyeshia Robinson; brothers: Laurn Brown, Jr. and Clarence “CB” Brown (Lois), Brandon and Byron Walker, sisters: Dorothy Brown-Declue (Donley), Frenchye Hooks (Victor), Patsy Barnes, Brenda Fadell-Duley (Cornell), and Inetta Walker; loving and faithful friends Julius “Frog” Hatten, Mike “Pup” Hall, Scott Fitsimmons; ten grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends and the Motorcycle Set brotherhood, especially the Dreamcatchers Motorcycle family who all will forever hold his memory with love and respect in their hearts.
