Vincent Otis Lindsay II “Vito” was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 25, 1987 to parents Vincent Lindsay Sr. and Sharon Lindsay. He was preceded in his transition by his paternal grandfather Aaron Lindsay, grandmother Delores Lindsay and maternal grandfather Sylvester McCoy Sr. Vito departed this life on December 19, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center.

Vito worked various jobs including The Upper Room Summer Camp for youth, LINC, the City of Kansas City and KU Medical Center.

He was a member of Metropolitan AME Zion Church where he accepted Christ at a very young age. Metropolitan is where he served as an acolyte and sang in the Little Voices Choir.

He attended Raytown High School where he obtained his GED. After that he obtained a scholarship to attend The Mid America Nazarene University where he studied Mass Communication & Sports Management.

From Little League to Mid America Nazarene University he was an amazing football player where he held the title of All State as a strong safety. During these years he gained the love and passion for the game of football. This developed into him becoming “Coach Vito”. For many years he coached, mentored, guided, corrected and even became a father figure to many youth. Along with coaching football, he also coached youth basketball. The basketball teams he coached included the Tar Heels and the Takeover Elites where they won multiple championships. These teams produced players that continued to play the game and who ultimately won the High School State Championship as seniors. The football teams he coached included the Bearcats, Spartans, Outlaws, Cardinals and GTE. Under Coach Vito’s guidance some of these teams won the league’s Superbowl twice and a national championship. He also coached with the FBU traveling team which is a citywide football team.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents Vincent O. Lindsay Sr. (Debra) and Sharon Y. Lindsay; his maternal grandmother Gertrude McCoy; two sons Vincent O. Lindsay III and Christian V. Lindsay; two daughters Amyiah M. Long-Lindsay and Nova R. Lindsay; one bonus son Jayden R. Thomas; One brother Devon L. Lindsay; two sisters Antoinette L. Hill (Russell) and Vanecia L. Codner (Domingo); a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.
