On September 6, 1942, Vincent George Morgan aka "Vinny", was born in the small community of Mount Lebanus in the parish of St. Thomas on the beautiful island of Jamaica in the Caribbean. Vincent was 1 of 8 children (6 boys and 2 girls) born to Wilford and Mercella Morgan.
Vincent completed his early education in St. Thomas. He later moved to Kingston where he worked for some time as an apprentice mechanic at Sinclair’s Garage on Elletson Road. He later worked for The Gleaner Company as a contractor and a delivery man. While working with The Gleaner Company, Vincent established The Gleaner Company Contractor’s Association where he served as the President and a union delegate. He was actively involved in negotiating contracts and for increased wages for the contractors.
Vincent migrated to the United States in 1986 and lived in Florida. A short time later, he moved to Kansas City, MO with some urging from his brother William Campbell. In Kansas City, he met his wife, Dorene Rice. They were married in 1995 and remained in love until his transition.
Vincent was preceded in his death by his parents and his siblings: Edna Morgan, Lena Graham, Rupert Morgan, Rudolph Morgan, and his stepson Keith Rice.
Vincent leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Dorene Morgan; siblings: Solomon Morgan, Wilberforce Henry, William Campbell; children: Belton Morgan, Beverly Morgan, Shoran Morgan, Vernal Morgan, Annmarie Morgan, stepson Byron Rice, Damion Morgan, Ava Morgan, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends. Vincent passed on November 5, 2024 in Vero Beach, Florida surrounded by family.
