Vonnetter Marie Gant

Vonnetter M. Gant passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2022. She was born on January 10, 1951, in Kansas City, MO to Aaron L. Gant and Dorothy A. Gant. She grew up in Kansas City, MO and attended Manual High School.

After high school she attended Kansas City College of Medical and Dental Assistants in Kansas City where she received a certificate of completion in Dental Assistant.

She began working for Wayne Minor Medical Center as a Dental Assistant where she worked for several years.

Vonnetter was involved in church, and she loved cooking and creating her own recipes. She was big on family leaning and depending on one another. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends. She was always the life of the party. She told you how she felt and kept it real (you piece of paper!)

She is preceded death by her grandparents; her parents, Aaron L. Gant, and Dorothy A. Gant; her brothers, Aaron L. Gant, Jr., Marvin E. Gant, and Reginald L. Gant; her son, Rasheed Gant; her grandson, Carl J. Jones; her niece, Mykeisha Gant; as well as aunts, uncles, and friends.

She is survived by her partner of 14 years, Paul Turner Sr.; her daughter, Shavonn C. Brown (David); her grandchildren, Brian Jones Jr. (Char). Candace Jones, Jaleeah Jones, Breawnn Jones (Laronn), Rashia Gant, Rasheed Gant, Jr., and Tamir; her great-grandchildren, AJ, Cameron, Makhi, LJ, Bryson, Malia, and DeWayne; her siblings, Alan C. Hawkins (Shanika), Virginia M. Wheeler, Robert L. Gant (Leslie), James E. Gant (Joyce), Nina L. Gant, Dwayne D. Gant, Janice R. Gant (Steve), Steven A. Gant (Marcia), LaDonna J. Miles, Regine P. Blackmon (Juan), Marcus T. Gant, Sue, and Angie; and a host of other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
