Wallace Powell

Wallace Powell 69 was born March 29, 1953, to the union of Bennie and Georgia (Lenior) Powell in Kansas City, Kansas later relocating to Kansas City, Missouri. He was the second of two children. Both parents preceded him in death.

At the age of eight, Wallace accepted Christ at Skylight Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and religiously attended Baptist Training Unit (BTU), later joining Palestine Missionary Baptist Church.

Wallace received his high school diploma in 1971 from Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He went to Langston University (HBCU) where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.  While there he pledged and became a card carrying bonified member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Wallace was employed with Union Pacific Railroad for 22 years until he experienced a work-related injury.

Wallace was united in marriage to Connie Stanley on August 6, 2005. Connie remained faithfully by his side and demonstrated her true love and affection for him until the very end, caring for him in their home throughout his health challenges.

Wallace leaves to cherish him with fond memories his wife, Connie; two sons, Evan (Rachelle) and Michael; one stepdaughter, Erica Stanley, sister, Bernice Powell-Cottrell (John); thirteen grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
