Wanda Williams was born on August 13, 1948, from the union of Henry A. Bowman & Mary E. Bowman in Kansas City, Missouri.  Wanda was the fourth child of nine. Wanda was educated in the Kansas City School District and graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1966 as best dancer.

Wanda married Jerry Hammond in 1967. Their marriage soon dissolved, and no children were born to this union. Shortly afterwards she met and would later marry Nathaniel Williams. To this union two children were born, Kevin Hammond & Donzell Williams, both of Kansas City, MO.

Wanda began her career at St. Mary’s Hospital, where she worked in Dietary for 12 years. She then worked at St. Regis Bag Factory, Armco Steel, and Lake City Ammunition Plant, where she retired early after a 10-year career.

Wanda gave her lifer to Christ at an early age. In her youth, she loved roller skating, dancing, playing bid whist, cooking & hosting family gatherings. Later in life, her enjoyments became spending time with and shopping for her grandchildren, many casino trips, and listening to gospel.  Wanda was also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter.

She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband; and maternal sisters, Essie Tolbert, Ruby Allbritton, Charlene Frazier, Betty Mae Bowman & Carolyn Hunter.

Wanda leaves to mourn and cherish her life memories two sons, Kevin Hammond, & Donzell Williams; stepdaughter, Janelle Williams; five grandchildren, Maurice Amosa, Marissa Amosa, Nathan Weinzatl, Justen Ellenburg & Vicente Rivera; one sister, Tami Winton (Gene); four brothers, Phillip Bowman (Ada), Daryl Bowman, James Bowman (Kimberly) & Keith Bowman Sr. (Montrea); and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special cousins, and family friends.
