Whitney Shanice Harris, 33, passed away on March 31, 2026, at University Health in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on March 17,1993, in Kansas City, Missouri to Raymond Harris Sr. and Babette Grant. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Center High School. While in school she joined the KC Marching Sizzlers, where she gained the position of Leader. After school she worked at Taco Bell for 3 years.

Whitney loved her daughter with everything in her; she gave her the world. Whitney also had a special relationship with her niece and nephew, Aniyah and Troy Jr. Whitney recently turned over a new leaf, gave her life to the Lord, got saved, and started a healthy journey.

Whitney was preceded into death by her father, Raymond Harris Sr.; paternal grandfather, Leroy Harris; maternal grandfather, Leroy Grant; paternal grandmother, Helen Jones; and uncle, Andre Grant.

She is survived by her daughter, Amara R. Harris-Baskin; mother, Babette Grant; maternal grandmother, Joyce Alder; sister, Mallory Grant; brother, Raymond Harris Jr.; nephews, Troy Jr., Mylo, Issac, Kingston, and Raymond; nieces, Aniyah, Rayvonna, Myla and Nola, and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
