Wilbur Nell Douglas was born on November 25th, 1940, in Newport, Oklahoma to William and Liller Anderson-Douglas. He was the 6th child born to this union. He was baptized at the age of 8 and attended Mount Olive Baptist Church. Wilbur attended school at St John at Mt Olive Baptist and later attended Central High School in Milo, Oklahoma. On June 17th, 1960, he united in marriage to Shirley Revels whom he was married to for 56 years until her death. In 1966 the family relocated to Kansas City Missouri. While in Kansas City Missouri he was employed at Bill Allen Chevrolet, Roach Cadillac, Paniplus, Ryder Bus Company and First Student until he retired. He enjoyed family gatherings, fishing and hunting and going back to Oklahoma to visit family. If you knew him then you knew Wheel of Fortune was one of his many shows that he wouldn’t miss. Wilbur rededicated his life to Christ in 2016 and joined Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Richard Clark. He will be dearly missed.
Wilbur was preceded in death by both of his parents, his siblings: Delores Butler, James Louis Douglas, Clint Douglas, Myles Douglas, and Juanita West; his children Craig Douglas, Corey Boston, and Nikita Boston; grandchildren: Aaron Day and Shontel Byers.
He leaves to forever cherish his memory: children, Ricky Douglas, Jacquelynn Hill, Natalie Noel, and Rodney (Tiffeny) Douglas, Wanda Morgan, Catina Boston all of Kansas City, Mo, Randy Pickens of Milo, Oklahoma, Wilbur Shannon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Brandon Douglas, Shamika (Markus) Webb, (Lil) Rodney Douglas, Jimmy Peoples, Desia Howard, Jordan Douglas, Dezi Douglas, Jacquez Hill, Cameron Douglas, Nadia Douglas, Nathan Douglas, Paige Webb, Layla Webb, Corey Boston, Ky’Monni Day, Arianna Day, Aaron Day, London Day, Lela Day, Kylan Day, Jaylen Tanner, Alonzo Relves; sisters, Cecile Lax of Kansas City Missouri, Benester Douglas of Ardmore, Oklahoma, a host of great grandchildren nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
