Listen to Obituary

Wiley H. Neal was born May 13, 1947 to Joel and Josie (Wilson) Neal in Camden, Arkansas.

Wiley accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age. He attended Lafayette High School where he graduated.

After graduating, Wiley moved to Kansas City, MO where he met his wife to be Joyce Bellows. In 1968, Wiley was called to serve in the armed forces for the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged in 1973. Shortly after returning to the states, he married Joyce on March 15, 1969. From this union they had three girls.

In 1969, he started his first job with Armco Steel where he worked 19 years as a Plant Manager. In 1985, he started his own business, Neal’s Construction. In addition to his own business, he worked in management positions for many years with several businesses that included Schwan’s, Lady Baltimore Foods and Lucky International Trade. Wiley loved to cook and anyone who tasted his food was always looking for more. He always had a bright smile, joke or word of wisdom for anyone who would listen.

He was the life of every conversation; with a knack for telling you like it is. A selfless person in that he didn’t hesitate to put others before himself; a teddy bear at heart. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Wiley was preceded in death by his father and mother; wife of 16 years, Joyce; daughter, Erika Peterson; brothers, Joel Jr., Theotis and Luke; sisters, Merdis Davis, Ophelia Warren, Cleo Hall and Gloria Roberson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Janet and Nicole Neal; grandsons, Sheldon Neal, Anthony and Deion Peterson; great-grandson, Braylon Neal; brother, Claude; sisters, Brenda Patton (Sunny), Hazel Moore (Delton), Bessie Leake, Grace Ford (Horace) and JoAnn Kelly and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
