Wilie Booker

Willie T. Booker, Sr., was born on May 3, 1936 n Huntsville, Alabama. He was the only child born to Mattie Lee Chunn and Willie F. Booker. At age 16, he moved from Huntsville, Alabama to Kansas City, Missouri.

He attended RT Cole and Manual High School in Kansas City, and excelled in wood work and carpentry. He was loved by everyone, and he would do anything for anyone. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, sports, and traveling. Willie loved his family, and he was a very hard worker. He worked for various retail grocery chains such as A & P, Krogers, and Millgrams in Kansas City, Missouri, and Alaska. He worked from age 16, until 2007, working in each department from being the Head Cashier, to being the store Manager. He retired twice.

On April 29th, 1997, Willie married Lillie Collier in Miami, Oklahoma. Willie joined Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop W.B. Henderson in 1997 and was a very active Deacon. In 2010, Willie and his wife Lillie, joined Calvary Chapel Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of pastor Harold Molden, until he made his transition to be in the arms of the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his former wife; Emma N. Booker, mother; Mattie Lee Chunn, and father; Willie F. Booker.

Willie leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife; Lillie Booker, son’s; Willie Booker, Jr.(Karen) of Kansas City, Kansas, Ralph Booker of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mark Booker(Sandra) of Wiley Texas; his daughters; Diana M. Booker of Ervin Texas, Sheila Smith of Olathe, Kansas, JoAnn McCray and Eraina Collier, both of Kansas City, Missouri, Sixteen grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of family and friends.
