Willie Mosley III, lovingly known as Willie Mo, gained his heavenly wings on October 9, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 66.
Willie was born on February 6, 1959, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, to the late Maple Lee Mosley and Willie Mosley Jr. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard Lyles, Velma Lee Brown and Oscar Lloyd Brown; his aunt, Ellen Manor; and his nephew, Tony Bush Jr.
From his union with Rosalind, Willie was blessed with two children — Willie Mosley (Genel) and Ra’Chelle Floyd (Julius) — and together they shared not only the joy of raising a family but also a lifelong friendship built on love and mutual respect.
Willie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. He had many accomplishments, including being scouted by a professional baseball team and helping run his family’s trucking company. He most recently worked as a maintenance engineer for University Health, where his hard work and friendly spirit touched many lives.
Willie’s greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted father and a joyful grandfather to NaTaya, Brooklyn, Jasmine, Laiah, Jordan, Jaxon, and Kobe. He is also survived by his sister Regina Brown, his cousin/sister Rebecca Scott, his niece Taquila Huff, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Willie had a deep love for baseball, fishing, and spending time with the people he loved most. His laughter, kindness, and devotion to family will be remembered forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor, where family and friends will gather to remember a life well lived and a man well loved.
As Willie would say:
“Don’t say bye — bye is forever. Say later.”
