Willie Watson, Jr.

Willie Watson Jr. passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on September 19, 1960, in Eudora, Arkansas to Willie Watson Sr. and Odessie Watson.

He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri. After high school he went and served in the United States Marine Corp. He also attended The School of Theology and obtained a Master of Divinity Degree. He began work for Asphalt Company for 6 years and moved on to the United States Postal Service for several years. In 2013, he began work for Ford Motor Company where he retired in 2024.

He was preceded in death by both parents, Willie Watson Sr. and Odessie Watson; and brothers: James Earl Watson and Kenny Watson.

He is survived by his 5 children: Willie Watson Ill, James Watson, Kenney Wilson, Dillion Watson, and Aliya Watson; six sisters and brothers: Robert Lee Shaw, Eric Watson, Joann Watson, Cora Faye Campbell, Debora Watson, Pertrise Watson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
