Winfred Lee Layton, 61, passed away on April 25, 2019 at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on September 19, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri to Osie Layton and Helen Layton. He attended Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. After high school he attended K.C. Voc. Institute where he received a certificate in Culinary Arts.
He began work for International House of Pancakes as a chef where he worked for 12 years.
He married Winona Hampton in Kansas City, Missouri. They were happily married for ten years.
He was preceded into death his wife; Winona Hampton-Layton, parents; Osie Layton, Helen Layton, son; Jayson Byers, brother; Samuel Wynn, nephew, Will Dominick Layton, Morris Pennington, great nephew; Murray Lee Wynn, Grandmothers; Alice Roberts and Jennie Layton.
Winfred loved his children and was a generous giver. He loved to cook and was an excellent chef. He never met a stranger because he loved people and connected with all people. He provided transportation for the elderly to their desired destinations. He was always willing to help. He was a jokester and loved to make others laugh.
Winfred leaves to cherish his memories four brothers; Murrey (Patricia) Wynn, Ike Layton, Mike (Lisa) Layton, all of Kansas City, Missouri, Clyde (Glenda) Layton, of Hinesville, Georgia.
